I am one of 32 BPIA Master Instructors in USA.

My name is Stephen Hansen and I was born and raised in Ohio. My early exposure to the game of pool was through my father, who was one of the best players in town during the 1950's & 60's. Spending countless hours in pool halls and bars, I developed a deep love and understanding for the game. In my late teens, my friends and I found refuge in playing 8 and 9 ball on the weekends, which kept us away from trouble and off the streets. While working full-time at General Motors, I attended Terra Community College at night and obtained my associate's degree in Electrical Engineering.

My passion for pool continued to grow, and after completing college, I joined the US Navy. Throughout my 20 year naval career, I played pool at every duty station, frequenting places like the American Legion and the VFW. After retiring from the Navy, I began working in management for Chrysler Corporation in Toledo Ohio, while attending Spring Arbor College in the evenings achieving my bachelors degree in Industrial Management.

Having a strong desire to continuously improve my game. I sought lessons from renowned pool players such as Jerry Briesath, Mark Wilson, Randy G, Jeremy Jones, Nick Varner, Earl Strickland, Johnny Archer & Robin (Dotson) Bell. I firmly believe in learning from others and credit my mentors, tutors, teammates and friends such as Eric Smith, Randy G., Bill Suden, Carl Oswald, Claude Gragg and Carl Pearson for their invaluable support and guidance.

My dedication to the game led me to become a Certified BCA/CSI referee, overseeing local tournaments, events and even participating in the BCA Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada. My commitment to improving the pool community motivated me to become an instructor with the PBIA (Professional Billiards Instructors Association) and ACS (American CueSports), where I hold a master level certification. I can certify instructors at various proficiency levels within the PBIA and ACS. I actively teach kids aged 18 and under on a monthly basis alongside master instructor Claude Gragg at UT Arlington and Stixx & Stones Billiards, Lewisville TX preparing them for junior nationals tournaments in Las Vegas. I also offer private and group billiard lessons at local pool halls, as well as in the comfort of my students' homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Including (Addison, Carrollton, Denton, Frisco, Garland, Little Elm, Lewisville, McKinney & Richardson & surrounding areas).

MISSION STATEMENT

My mission is to promote and provide quality billiard instruction to men, women, and children of all skill levels. I am dedicated to training and certifying individuals to become professional quality billiard instructors themselves.
